Wora

A joyful universe of hand-carved and hand painted wooden sculptures

Work

All the characters come from my own childhood imagination. Big headed little girl and friends, quiet observing the world and finding joy in small everyday moments. Each piece begins as a simple block of wood. I slowly carve away what doesn't belong, little by little until the story inside starts to appear. Then I bring it to life with bright, playful color. These sculptures are small and simple on purpose. They are meant to live with you and to remind you that the curious, light-hearted part of yourself is still there

About

For a long time, I was drawn to making things with my hands. Wood felt right- solid grounding, honest. Carving become a quiet practice for me, a way to slow down and focus. Wora grew naturally from that process.Creating Art that feel sincere and brings a small sense of lightness into everyday life is my happiest goalI create each piec in North Carolina, USA where I live with my husband and our little dog, Metta
